Composed in After Effects 2010. I really enjoy the simplicity of this, I find the billowy skirt mesmerising, like some kind of velvet black liquid, or the whirling fins of a Fighting Fish. The audio is without singing, or musical instruments because this is a world of legs and feet.

The Sky People (work in progress)

Using Combustion 4 and Photoshop. 4 completes renders/shots from a faux documentary in progress about ancient futuristic ruins atop mountains. post post apocalyptic, time travel, maybe.

I collect suitable high-re images from google images and blend them together in photoshop to create matte-style stills of scenes then cut them into layers then composite the layers with added lighting effects and camera direction in combustion 4.

Images edited and split into layers in Photoshop then composited and animated in Combustion 4. This is the first draft, might add some more cars, more debris and slow it down a bit. Apocalyptic destruction = Total Radness.

Chest Burst!

Here we see crew member Lambert of the Nostromo from the movie Alien in the instant when her crew member's chest explodes with the alien spawn that had been unknowingly incubating in his abdomen. Easily the most original thing to happen to the sci-fi genre at the time, it hideously knitted together fears of isolation, disease, foetal deformity and xenophobia. Production notes say that the actors were not given any prior warning nor explanation of the special effect, so their reactions would be authentic. Awesome. Graphite on paper, 2008.

Composited with Combustion 4 using various uncredited anaglyphs I found via Google Images.

This is an exert from the full 25 minute projection, played at 3x speed. You will need red/blue 3D glasses to view this. It was played in a small screening room on a screen approx 5x5 metres, with YAMA BOY playing in front. A lot of the quality and depth has been lost with the web compression, but you get the idea.

Some sequences I kinda loosely strung together whilst learning the software. Cut out photos i found on Google images in photoshop and imported the files into Combustion for rigging, animating and compositing. Did not use any footage.

Was gonna expand it into a short film or animation but I think there are enough robot things around already.

this is a 3d stereo version of a drawing i did a while ago. you need to wear red and blue 3d glasses to see the image in 3d. i had to edit the original drawing in (my beloved, sweet nubile software) photoshop to create the dual channel image. it is one thing to attempt a photorealistic drawing, quite another to make it 3 dimensional.

Non-profit art space Utopian Slumps is pleased to announce the opening of Little did they know by Tristan Jalleh & Saskia Pandji Sakti from 6 - 9pm on Friday 15 August 2008.

Little Did They Know draws upon society’s existing notions surrounding death. That of sudden or accidental death, grief and bereavement, the ritual and myth associated with death and public mourning, and the depiction of death through film and the media.

Saskia and Tristan’s collaboration came about through their own personal experiences of loss. The work examines their own ongoing reaction and understanding of death, in contrast to that of the media and it’s role in influencing, determining and interpreting death in modern society.
